I’ve just returned from the beautiful country of Guatemala. This was my first visit to this country and it won’t be my last! What a wonderful place with warm, friendly people. As you can see from the title, the name Guatemala is taken from the meaning, “A Place of Many Trees.” There were great trees and flora and fauna there as well as impressive volcanos.
My main purpose for this visit was to sing and lead worship for the SETECA seminary’s “Transformation 2015” conference for leaders and pastors and to encourage our missionaries who are there. Central Missionary, Michael Miller, the “Jefe” or big dog of the Micah Project (www.MicahProjectHonduras.org) joined me as we visited the cities of Guatemala City, Panajachel, Santiago & Antigua. (We also celebrated Michael’s birthday for four days in a row!
I hope to take a mission team back to Guatemala soon to work with the children who work the Coffee fields and to help build a home for a single mom and her kids as well as some outreach events and concerts. If you’re interested in joining me, drop me a note!
